Born in Massachusetts she came to Canada at the age of twenty and during her lifetime the American Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the American Civil War, and the Fenian Raids all occurred. The family homestead was located in Queenston Ontario and it was from here that she made her famous walk through twenty miles of wild countryside to alert troops of the impending American attack. The family later moved to Chippawa. Both houses still exist today. Laura Secord is buried in the Drummond Hill Cemetery, Niagara Falls, Canada ;

Notes  In 1929, during a severe storm, one of the outstreched arms of General Brock was severed. In addition the head and shoulders of the statue and the upper part of the torso were almost shattered by lightning. Extensive repairs were begun the following year. One section of the statue was completely renewed, the whole shaft pointed to make it weather proof,, lightning arresters were installed and a new railing placed at the top of the column" This description is probably from the Review ;

Notes  Plaque Text: On October 13, 1812, following Isaac Brock's death in a preceding assault, Major-General Sheaffe assumed command and led a successful attack which dislodged an invading American force from Queenston Heights. Born in Boston, Mass., Sheaffe was commissioned in the British army in 1778 and fought in the American Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars. Arriving in Upper Canada in 1812, he served as Administrator of the province 1812-13, and returned to England in the latter year. He was created a baronet in 1813, attained the rank of general in 1838 and died in Edinburgh, Scotland.
