Description
| The stranded scow lying in the Upper Rapids has been a fixture since August 6, 1918. It broke loose while being towed by the tug Hassayampa, after the tug went aground in the American Channel opposite Port Day, less than a mile above the Falls. ...a line was shot out from the top of the Toronto Power House. Attempts were made to rig a breeches buoy, but the lines became fouled and it was not until "Red Hill" volunteered his services that it was possible to bring the men to shore, excerpted from Niagara Falls, Canada : a history of the City and the world famous beauty spot ; |
