Notes  Despite a hectic beginning to the city softball payoff finals, all was serene at Oakes Park as the champion ship Borden Trophy was presented to the winning Motorville Rockets. Shown above taking part in the brief post-game ceremony from left to right, in front are, Leo Burger, league vice-president, winning Motorville team captain Boris Dimitroff, league president Don Senese, Niagara Hotel captain John Stewart and league treasurer Ken Barrow. Standing in the back are league publicity director Cal Parker, on the left, and league secretary Scotty Watson.

Notes  Hockey star Derek Sanderson takes part in special opening night ceremonies for the start of the 1968 schedule of the Greater Niagara Softball Association at Ker Park. Sanderson is shown helping Miss Niagara Hospitality, Beryl Bird, in her first batting lesson. Catching is Ernie B's manager Al Lewis while Captain Pat Defoe throws a pitch. Watching are Mayor Frank Miller and GNSA league president Leo Burger.

Notes  First team choices for the Greater Niagara Softball all-star squads along with three of the four pitchers nominated and their coach and manager pose at Oakes Park prior to a full-scale workout. This first squad along with second team reserves met the powerful Port Colborne all-stars at Oakes Park under the lights in the annual softball classic.
Front Row (left to right): outfielder Bobby Mancuso of Daws, catcher Dave Kemp of Drummond Cycle, first baseman Bruce McCrie of Drummond Cycle, outfielder Ray Turcotte of Niagara Hotel, third baseman Phil Campagna of Calaguiros filling in for the absent John Worrall of Venetian and second baseman Gary McGillivray of Drummond. The 1945 N.F.C.V.I. Senior Rugby Team lost only one game during the regular schedule. They defeated teams from Stamford, Fort Erie, Port Colborne, Welland and St. Catharines to win the Niagara District Championship.

It was quite an accomplishment, as the 1944 N.F.C.V.I. Championship Rugby Team was rebuilt after a number of the players graduated. The 1945 N.F.C.V.I. Senior Rugby Team were extremely proud to bring back the Niagara District Championship trophy for a second year in a row.
