| The Comet is a classic wooden roller coaster. Originally built in 1927 as the Cyclone at Crystal Beach Amusement Park, it was redesigned in 1946 by Herb Schmeck of PTC. It was re-erected at The Great Escape Fun Park in New York in 1994 where it operates today. ; |

| Used in the book Our Romantic Niagara by Albert H. Tiplin. Eurypterida or "sea scorpions" existed approx. 425 million years ago. This particular specimen, fossilized, was discovered amongst layers of Bertie Limestone in the vicinity of Lake Erie. |
