Video Game Consoles

The library now has a collection of video game consoles for you to borrow. Currently, the consoles available are Nintendo Switches and Nintendo Switch Lites. They come in clear plastic bins to make it easier for you to carry them.
The consoles can be checked out for one week with up to two additional one week renewals (barring other holds).
They cannot be returned through our drop boxes - the consoles must be returned at the front desk of one of our locations during opening hours. Also, please make sure that they aren’t missing any pieces when you return them to us.
Nintendo Switch
The Nintendo Switch is a full video game console that can be hooked up to a screen or played as a handheld device. It’s great for when you want to see your game on a big screen or share the gaming experience with others!
The console comes with:
- 2 Joy-Con controllers, one for your left hand and one for your right hand
- 2 wrist straps for the controllers so that you don’t drop the controllers while you’re playing
- 1 Joy-Con grip to attach the 2 controllers if you don’t want to play with them on your wrists
- 1 Switch dock to allow the console content to play on your TV
- 1 high speed HDMI cable to link your TV and the Switch dock
- 1 AC adapter so that you can power the Switch (the plug works with any standard Canadian power outlet)
Nintendo Switch Lite
The Nintendo Switch Lite is a more compact version of the regular Nintendo Switch. It’s all one unit (aside from the charger), which means that the Lite can only be used as a handheld device. It’s perfect for travel and gaming on-the-go!
The console comes with:
- 1 AC adapter so that you can power the Switch (the plug works with any standard Canadian power outlet)
