Romance Novels by Black Authors

February is the month of love but it’s also Black History Month. That’s why we wanted to highlight some Black romance authors that we think you should check out!

We also wanted to note that there are some subtle differences in romances written by Black authors. We’re sharing what Book Riot had to say in their post about Black romances since they said it so well:

  • Black Romance: romance written by a Black author in which all concerned parties are Black.
  • Black-Written Interracial Romance: romance written by a Black author in which one or more, but not all, concerned parties are Black.

The books we’ve included cover both Black Romances and Black-Written Interracial Romances and we hope you find a book (or three!) you want to pick up. Below are just a few titles but you can find the whole book list here: nfpl.info/BlackRomances
