Seth Parrot is an aspiring playwright, son of profoundly odd parents (their house in the Australian suburbs was built by his family using daub & wattle, then covered in dried cow dung due to its high insulation value), and brother to a melodramatic narcissist who attracts droves of young teenaged girls. Seth is attracted to ladies of the Ms Universe ilk, and he finds his Perfect Woman in Miranda. Trouble is, Miranda’s former boyfriend is extremely jealous and has a proclivity for throwing anyone who looks with interest at Miranda into the nearest body of water after delivering a good pummelling. It also doesn’t help that Miranda’s father is feuding with Seth’s father (he’s a town bylaw enforcement official) so things like exploding mailboxes and lawns covered with portable toilets keep happening....
