Full size image of plaque Born in Niagara Falls, Marty Dallman realized at a young age that he had talent and flair for the game of hockey. He always performed at the highest level for his age group, while moving through the Niagara Falls Minor Hockey system. Along the way, he established new standards for the younger boys to achieve. Marty played for the Junior "B" Canucks and the Junior "A" Flyers in Niagara Falls, before receiving a four year scholarship to play N.C.A.A. College Hockey at R.P.I. in Troy, New York. Marty was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings, in 1981 and upon graduation from college, played for six years in the American Hockey League with New Haven, Baltimore and Newmarket. This time period included selection to the A.H.L. "All Star" Team in 1988, Team Scoring Champion in Newmarket and playing in a few games with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Marty chose to continue his professional career in Europe, with teams in Austria, Switzerland and England. This time period included nine Team Scoring Titles, four League Scoring Championships and ten "All Star" Team selections. Special memories included playing for Austria at the 1993 World Championships in Munich, Germany and at the 1994 Olympics in Lillehammar, Norway. Marty returned to Niagara Falls, after ending his playing days. However, he continued his love for the game, as a Minor Hockey Coach and as Head Instructor at his summer hockey school. |
