John Lawson, President and General Manager of the Canadian Niagara Power Company, contributed to Niagara Falls sports in many ways, particularly with his intense support of the Senior Hockey Club. In 1923 -24, under his presidency of the John Ross Robertson O.H.A. the Niagara Falls team won the Intermediate Challenge Cup. In 1924-25, he was president of Niagara Falls Senior Hockey Club when they won the Allan Cup Semi Finalists.
Mr. Lawson made it possible for players from out-of-town to obtain employment at the Canadian Niagara Power Company. As a result, many of the players remained, raised families, and became good citizens of Niagara Falls.
