     Rick McGarry received many awards and honours in the sport of trapshooting, competing extensively throughout the Province of Ontario and New York State. Among the honours awarded to Rick were Canadian Junior Champion 1963, Ontario Doubles Champion 1963, Hamilton Gun Club 1966, and Class A Eastern Zone U.S.A. Champion 1967. Rick also competed in National and International events winning the European Junior Champion in 1966 at Aachen, Germany and the World Junior Champion at Bologna, Italy in 1967.
     Rick took part in the Canadian Olympic International try-outs in 1968. Rick also has an impressive record of nearly a dozen major trapshooting victories in 1967, coming second in Ontario in the high average standing and third in North America.
     With such an outstanding career and tremendous list of records, Rick McGarry is one of only a few celebrated athletes in his field, while bringing much recognition to himself and the City of Niagara Falls.
