     Frank Pietrangelo played goal for many years in the Niagara Falls Minor Hockey system before joining the Niagara Falls Junior B Canucks in 1979.
     His outstanding performance with the Canucks and with the Brampton Warriers Tier II Junior A team from 1900 -1982, earned him a hockey scholarship at the University of Minnesota. Frank was named the National Collegiate Athletic Association (N .C.A.A.) rookie of the year in his first season there.
     Upon leaving the University of Minnesota, Frank joined the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the International Hockey League (I.H.L.). Frank was drafted into the National Hockey League (N.H.L.) by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1987. One of the highlights of his career was his participation as a member of the 1990/1991 Stanley Cup championship team.
     Frank played out the remainder of his N .H.L. career with the Hartford Whalers.
