Daw's Sheet Metal 1961 Provincial Champions ...…softball team

     The 1961 Daw's Sheet Metal played their League games in a very competitive G.N.S.A. League with games being played at Oakes Park in the corner diamond and drew a large number of fans. The league consisted of some of the finest softball pitchers in Ontario and New York State. Some of the fine athletes include: Hank Sokolowski, Bill Glashon, Dick Duggon, George Wenz, Chuck Stogner, Roy Foster, Lefty Leveen and Joe Wellman.
     
     The Daw's team went through the provincial playoffs undefeated beating out teams from Hamilton, Oshawa, Stratford and Sault St. Marie in a Home and Home Series. The 1961 Daw's Champions were a very talented team, with everyone contributing to its success.
