| In the 1940's, as a public relations gesture, the North American Cyanamid Company converted their water storage facility into a swimming pool and opened it free of charge to the public. The Company kept a nurse on duty at all times, along with two lifeguards. It was a popular site for family picnics in the late 40s and early 50s ; |
