Bruno Agostinelli Jr. was born on April 1, 1987 in Niagara Falls, and in his youth he took significant interest in the sport of tennis. At the age of six, while a member of the White Oaks Tennis Club, Bruno was appointed to the Team Ontario “Junior” Squad. From there, he went on to capture several prestigious titles, finding success at both the national and international level.

In 2000, Bruno placed first at the International Junior Orange Bowl Championship, in the Mixed Doubles division, held in Coral Gables, Florida. The following year, Bruno won both the Ontario Provincial Championship and the Canadian National Championship, placing first in both the Singles and Doubles events. As a former member of Team Canada, Bruno has travelled around the world competing in numerous Junior International Tennis Federation events.

While a student at Saint Paul Catholic High School, Bruno earned a ranking in the Association of Tennis Professionals and, in 2005, captured an OFSAA gold medal in the Mixed Doubles division. The same year, Bruno signed a full athletics scholarship to the University of Kentucky, where he later captained the men's tennis team. In addition to winning the Southeastern Conference's Freshman of the Year and Player of the Week awards, in 2009, Bruno was named the University of Kentucky's Male Athlete of the Year for having achieved a rank of #2 in the NCAA Men's Singles standings.

Following his appointment to the NCAA All-American Team, Bruno was invited to the Canadian Davis Cup Team twice and, during a competition against Peru, won a tie-breaking match that cemented Canada's top division standing.

After having competed in the 2009 Rogers Cup Masters in Montreal, Bruno retired from professional tennis, and currently serves as a National Junior Tennis Coach for Tennis Canada.
