Notes  Niagara Falls Heritage Foundation Government of Canada Local Initiatives Grant BK 4701-1 1975 - 1976 ; artisric rectreation by Donna Campbell based on the original by James Graham, held at Library and Archives of Canada ; research by George Seibel ; Thomas Clark and Samuel Street were granted the right to operate the ferry across the Niagara River below the Falls in 1852, after agreeing to build a carriage road down the bank to the ferry landing. Christopher Buckner's farm was situated at the top of the ferry road, his barn is visible in the right foreground: ; imae on p. 282 of "Niagara Falls, Canada : a history of the City and the World Famous Beauty Spot" ;
