On Nov. 22 Chippawa Branch Library will be opening a new 'teen' book collection in a newly-decorated section upstairs in the adult department.
Each person who checks out material from our new section on Nov. 22 will receive a ballot for an hourly draw that day. There will be six draws for six prizes. Enter often, read more, and win more! Chippawa Branch is open from 10am to 4pm on Saturdays.
The grand prize will be a complete hardcover set of the popular Stephenie Meyer series to be drawn at our annual Christmas open house on Monday Dec. 1st.
Borrow the following books by this very popular young adult writer - “Breaking dawn”, “The host”, “Eclipse”, “New Moon” and “Twilight”. A film adaptation of Twilight is expected to be released this month.

The Teen Zone on the library’s popular website www.nflibrary.ca/teen includes helpful features used by many teenagers. It highlights new CDs, DVDs, video games and good books to read.
It lists upcoming events such as the next feature film showing on the evening of Nov. 4 starring Heath Ledger and Christian Bale. Homework help is there with many electronic research databases not available on a Google search.
On Nov. 23 everyone is invited to the LaMarsh Room of the Victoria Avenue Library for a musical open house called “Winter Wonderland”. Drop-in any time between 1:30pm and 4:30pm to listen to musical guests Chime FX, Melodia and talented library staff. Have some light refreshments, stay as long as you wish and enjoy some seasonal music.
There are many children’s books about Christmas which will delight youngsters of all ages. See the colourful winter displays at all four libraries.
There are helpful books about holiday entertaining, recipes, decorations, stories and tips for creating new family celebrations. Borrow holiday cds and dvds which include traditional and contemporary music and films.
The following books have great ideas about feeding a crowd during the holidays. Borrow “The gourmet potluck : show-stopping recipes for the buffet table”, “The big platter cookbook : cooking and entertaining family style”, “Buffet parties : delicious party treats and finger food for entertaining” and “The big book of potluck : good food--and lot's of it-- for parties, gatherings, and all occasions”.
