Thousands of adults, including many senior citizens, have now taken the library’s basic, introductory computer and Internet training classes for beginners and intermediates.
Instruction is for 2 hours at the Victoria Avenue Library. A minimum of three and a maximum of six people may be registered for each class. Morning and afternoon classes are available. Classes take place in our fully equipped Computer Training Lab.
It costs only $10 for each class and pre-payment must be made in person when you register. A one-on-one session with the instructor is $30.
If a minimum of 3 registrations is not received you will receive 48 hours notice of cancellation.
Choose from the following classes. Beginners should register for Computer Basics & Windows, Word Processing Basics, Introduction to the Internet, E-Mail and Excel. Those with some computer experience may be interested in Word Processing 2 and Windows 2. Pick-up a brochure at the library for full details.
There are hundreds of helpful computer books at the library for novice or sophisticated computer users.
Two books published this year are Podcasting for Dummies and Search Engine Optimization for Dummies.
Borrow magazines monthly such as PC World and PC Magazine.
Borrow CD-ROMs such as Office 2007, Learn Vista Today, Microsoft Word XP Advanced and many others. There’s a DVD called Excel@HTML which is an introduction to HTML.
