Improving your diet is a popular resolution to make at any time of the year but especially as we squeezed into too-tight bathing suits this summer . Many are helped by new library books which cover a variety of healthy subjects including the following. Brendan Brazier’s “The Thrivediet” outlines the whole foods way to losing weight, reducing stress, and staying healthy for life.

Linda Larsen has two new books “The everything no trans fat cookbook"  and “The everything low-cholesterol cookbook” which feature delicious, healthy, low-fat meals your whole family will love.

"The gluten-free vegetarian kitchen" by Donna Klein has lots of delicious and nutritious wheat-free and gluten-free dishes .

“Dr. Gott's no flour, no sugar diet” was published last year.

Fight disease by borrowing “The Cleveland Clinic healthy heart lifestyle guide and cookbook” “The MS recovery diet : take control, change what you eat, and live symptom-free” by Ann Sawyer and Judith Bachrach and “Cooking with foods that fight cancer” by Richard Béliveau and Denis Gingras .

“Stop prediabetes now“ by Jack Challem and Ron Hunninghake. is their plan to help lose weight and prevent diabetes. Also borrow Kathleen Stanley’s “Quick & easy diabetic recipes for one”

“Cooking the whole foods way” by Christina Pirello is a complete, everyday guide to healthy, delicious eating with 500 vegan recipes, menus, techniques, meal planning, buying tips, wit, and wisdom

“The antioxidant save-your-life cookbook” by Jane Kinderlehrer has 150 nutritious, high-fiber, low-fat recipes to protect you against the damaging effects of free radicals .

Canadian Rose Reisman’s “The complete light kitchen” has been popular.

“Good calories, bad calories” by Gary Taubes challenges the conventional wisdom on diet, weight control, and disease.

A better understanding of hormones, weight, and your metabolism is found in “Hormonal Balance” by Scott Isaacs.

“New dieter's cookbook : eat well, feel great, lose weight” is from Better homes and Gardens.

“Rethinking thin” by Gina Kolata explains the new science of weight loss and the myths and realities of dieting.

The DVD “Walk, sculpt and tone” teaches how to safely use fitness walking to both tone the body and burn calories.

Helpful suggestions are made by Alan Logan and Valori Treloar in their recent book “The clear skin diet : how to defeat acne and enjoy healthy skin".
