The entire parking lot behind the Victoria Avenue Library will be closed for re-surfacing for a few days sometime in the next two weeks. Signs will be posted when the lot is closed.
1987 was the last time it was re-surfaced.
The usual street parking continues around the Library.
Permission has been given by the current owner of the former Canadian Tire property for the public and staff to use its parking lot which has an entrance from both Morrison St. across from the Library and from Huron St. Sincere thanks are extended to Mordecai Grun of Historic Niagara Development Inc. for his generosity.
The Library will be open regular hours during this time. The lobby entrance from both the Morrison St. walkway and the front entrance at Victoria Avenue will be open as usual.
The book return will be closed at the Victoria Avenue Library during this period, but the book returns will be open at Stamford, Chippawa and Community Centre branch libraries.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Historic Niagara Development Inc. has provided free parking to also support the ongoing summer art festival in the downtown arts and culture district where many new art galleries, boutiques, shops and cafes have re-located this year.
The Take it Downtown Sports Festival on Aug. 2 will feature a 3 on 3 basketball, sand volleyball and street hockey. This event will showcase the partnership with local charities showing that the downtown is a caring business community.
The Dare Devil Days Busker Festival from Aug. 15 to 17 may become Queen St. downtown's signature event and possibly being a Niagara Signature event in years to some. It will feature performing artist and buskers from around the world with a world class unique parade.
This festival will offer free entertainment, with something for all ages and tastes.
Live music will fill the streetscape from multiple stages featuring jazz, blues, world, pop and children's artists. There will be jugglers, stilt-walkers, buskers and performing dare devils.
The Victoria Avenue Library is a major cultural asset located near downtown Queen St. Attracting residents from all parts of the city here supports a increasingly vibrant neighbourhood.
