The public is invited to meet Niagara mystery writer Beverley Armstrong-Rodman on Aug. 28 from 7pm to 8pm in the LaMarsh Room of the Victoria Avenue Library. She will read from her new book "Baa Baa Black Death", talk about her story and autograph books. Her first novel "Murder is a Family Matter" was published last year.
The new book again takes place in the Niagara area, mentioning locations familiar to local readers. The author also takes readers to some exciting adventures in Muskoka and treats us to a few lively escapades at a beautiful Florida resort. Some favourite characters from her first book also appear in the second one. It's summer in Niagara Falls. It's hot, humid and deadly. A murderer is carefully choosing pretty young women as victims. He walks among us waiting and planning. He works, parties and kills. No woman is safe. Some women knew he was charming; they knew he was intelligent; they just didn't know he was a killer!
Born in Sudbury Ontario, Bev graduated from the University of Toronto with an honours degree in languages. She worked for many years in the reference department of the Niagara Falls Public Library. She is married to her high school sweetheart and has a son and a daughter. Her favourite pasttimes are reading, playing bridge, writing, boating, doing puzzles, dancing and just "hanging out" with family ands friends. The book's cover design is done by Niagara Falls resident Faith Amadio. Both Faith and Bev are former members of the staff of the Niagara Falls Public Library. We hope many of Bev's Niagara Falls friends will come to her book reading on Aug. 28.
Bev is about to begin her third book which will continue the perils of the intrepid, often foolhardy, but always likeable women who are friends caught in extraordinary circumstances.
