Registration continues for the Fall children's programs which start soon. A new family storytime program for parents and children of all ages will be held on various Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30pm at the Victoria Avenue Library.

Resuming the week of Sept. 24 at all four libraries will be Bouncin' Baby Time for parents and children four to eleven months; Baby Time for 12 to 23 months; Toddler Time for two year olds; Preschool Story Time for 3 to 6 year olds and Cocoa Club for those eight years and older. A variety of Saturday morning and afternoon craft programs for children of all ages resume Sept. 29. Register early to avoid disappointment because these popular programs have a maximum capacity.

Jack Gibbons of the Ontario Clean Air Alliance will discuss "What you can do to reduce air pollution" on Sept. 22 at 2pm at the Victoria Avenue Library. Borrow the book "My office is killing me! : the sick building survival guide" by Jeffrey C. May about indoor air pollution.

The public is invited to meet Niagara author Dianne Bisson at the Victoria Avenue Library on Sept. 24 between 7pm and 8pm. Autographed copies of her new book "Tragedy, Truth, Triumph: A Woman's Personal Battle With Loss" will be available for sale in the lobby. It is penned from her personal journals following a horrific motorcycle accident in Sydney, Australia. This testimony will reinforce those who are living a personal victory, and it will encourage others who are living in pain. The reader will be convinced that everyone needs a support system, which can be found in family, friends, and God, and will be encouraged to embark on a spiritual journey that culminates in faith, victory, and miracles. If you have been victimized by a traumatic experience, be it through a serious affliction, the death of a loved one, a motor vehicle mishap, a broken relationship, rejection, abuse, or even rape, her story may possibly give you strength and hope. However, if you are one of the fortunate ones who has not been forced to live such an experience, you may just learn and begin to understand in a very small way, the insecurities, the agony, and the deepest perplexity of those who have.
