Non-fiction finalists available at our library include:

Children's literature suggestions are:

Margaret Atwood's "The Door" has been nominated under the poetry section.

Go to the library's website www.nfpl.library.on.ca and click under "Catalogue' to not only search for a specific title but to also find lists of literary winners and recommended books. These include Oprah's Book Club, Canada Reads, Giller/Nobel/Man Booker Literary Awards and the Arthur Ellis Award for Crime Fiction.

There are helpful lists to select Canadian books about fantasy, historical fiction, horror, humour, mysteries, romance, science fiction, sports stories and Christmas stories.

Recreational reading suggestions help you decide what to read next such as Chick Lit, Christian fiction and rollicking sea stories. There are lists of books if you like Stephen King, Danielle Steel or Robert Ludlum. Suggestions from our online databases are also featured.

The "What's New" section lists the books received at the library in the past couple of weeks.

The "Kids Catalogue" of the website suggests board books, easy readers and picture books. Popular children's topics are highlighted such as animals, growing-up, nature, space, people, places and sports among many others.

Children and parents appreciate the sections on the favourite books of library staff, early year's sites, "help I've got homework" and safe Internet surfing tips.

Residents are encouraged to register for a free library card to borrow a world of award-winning reading at the public library.
