Turn your dreams into realities is the theme of our free "Niagara Reads" program to promote and celebrate literacy, libraries and the world of words during Canadian Library Month. It will be held on Oct. 24 from 7:30 to 8:30pm at the Victoria Avenue Library.

The public is invited to meet and hear Sue Augustine, motivational speaker and author of the new book "Turn Your Dreams Into Realities". The book's back cover explains that it is an inspiring, practical, step-by-step guide to making your dreams come true. Sue offers powerful strategies that will take you where you want to go. You'll discover how to identify your God-given passions and dreams, use your unique abilities and talents to achieve your goals, overcome doubts, fears, and insecurities, develop short-term and long-term visions and break big dreams into doable action steps.

Sue is the author of "When Your Past is Hurting Your Present", "With Wings, There Are No Barriers", and "5-Minute Retreats for Moms" . She is a contributing author to the best-selling series "Chicken Soup for the Soul". Before starting her speaking business, Sue enjoyed over 15 years in her sales career as a successful entrepreneur and corporate trainer and is recognized internationally in the areas of personal effectiveness and excellence.

The theme of turn your dreams into realities also finds a place for editor Mae Denby and illustrator John Smeulders of the children's book "Small Fox". They will also show their recently published volume of art and poetry.

Hannah House and Adolescent Support Services of Niagara also are part of our theme and will explain their services at table displays.

Hannah House is Niagara Region's only maternity home that shelters and supports adolescent mothers of all races, religions and national origins. When it seems like there is nowhere left to turn, its goal is to provide girls, ages 21 and under, with a safe environment to share in the joys of pregnancy and gain effective parenting skills. This non-profit charitable organization is dedicated to providing a secure, nurturing environment for the purpose of empowering adolescent mothers as self-sufficient individuals, parents and citizens.

Adolescent's Family Support Services of Niagara is an not-for-profit organization dedicated to fostering the independence of young families pursuing an education through the provision of quality child care and other necessary supports. The future opportunities for young people who do not complete their secondary school education are very limited. By providing child care and other necessary supports it helps young parents have a much better future for themselves and their children.
