For all ages family fun, come to “Dan the Music Man’ with his rollicking, entertaining musical show, at the Victoria Avenue Library on Wednesday, March 17 at 2:00. You can also enjoy “Music with Brian” with his friends Melody the Hippo and Alan the Lion, on Monday, March 15th at the Community Centre Branch Library at 2:30 pm. Again, an event that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Have a budding artist in your family? Let them try painting a wonderful scene on canvas, available Monday morning at both the Victoria Avenue and Stamford Centre Branch Libraries, or at the Chippawa and Stamford Branch Libraries on Monday afternoon, and Tuesday morning and afternoon at the Community Centre Branch Library Feeling a bit green? Come to the Top O’ the Morning Storytime, Tuesday and Wednesday morning at the Victoria Avenue Library, at 10:30. All Library locations are hosting Mad Hatter Tea parties, for a variety of ages. Decorate a hat and enjoy tea and treats at the Library. For you sweet lovers, how about learning to decorate a cake? We provide cakes, icing and a little instruction. You bring an apron, your imagination and a sweet tooth. Staff from Sunstrum’s Florist will be visiting each Library to teach children about flowers, floral design and give them an opportunity to make their own stunning bouquet. Scrap booking, beading, spring crafts, and story times are also some of the great programs offered during this week. The Victoria Avenue Library is showing 2 “Froggy and Fantastic” feature films, free on Monday and Friday afternoons, at 2:00pm. Bring your own snacks and a comfy pillow. The March Break brochure, with all our events and activities listed, is available now at all 4 Library locations, and on our website, at www.nflibrary.ca There is a small fee for most programs and registration can be made online, by phone, or in person. Payment and registration for any program at any location can be made at a Library nearest to you. Spaces are filling quickly, be sure to visit us soon!

The next Philosophers café at the Victoria Avenue Library is scheduled for Monday March 1 at 7pm. The theme is "Taxes" - How do you feel about taxes? Are we taxed too much or too little? It’s that time of year when this is on our minds, and all interested in conversing with others and discussing this topic are invited to join in.

Staff have been busy booking appointments for our annual Income Tax Clinics for low income earners. Only 2009 returns will be completed at the Canada Revenue clinics, March 8 and 22, and the Wednesday or Thursday evening clinics during March with the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Call the Victoria Avenue Library at 905-356-8080 for more information or to arrange an appointment.
