On June the 20th, we once again welcome our own Beverley Armstrong Rodman to the Library for a reading and book signing of her latest book “I'll be killing you”. This is now her third mystery and our library takes pride in the fact that the “author” actually worked in our Reference Department for many years. Bev was always an avid mystery reader but only began to pursue her dreams of writing her own murder mysteries after she retired! She tells us that although there are always Niagara Falls characters, they are all fictional, with the exception of the felines. They are based on cats she has known and loved.

The Library has copies available of the two previous titles; “Murder is a Family Matter” and “Baa Baa Black Death” at all Branches. Her next book is already in the planning stages.
You are always encouraged to reserve a copy of titles you would like to read by contacting the library by telephone or online through the Library website www.nflibrary.ca.

Also of note, is the cover art on the book which has been created by another good friend and former Library employee, Faith Amadio. She too has been able to develop her artistic flair in her retirement.
Join the “gals” Saturday afternoon from 2:30 to 3:30pm in the LaMarsh Room.

For those young people, interested in creative writing, the 8th annual “Fresh Ink” Teen Writing Awards - for teens who live or study in the Niagara Region, is accepting submissions until July 31. The competition is open to 12-18 year olds and limited to original, unpublished works. The limit is one poem and/or short story per person. All judging is done by professional writers and cash prizes are awarded in each category for entrants 12 to 15 years of age and 16 to 18 years of age. First prize is $100 and second prize is $50. Winners will be announced in October.
Entry forms with more information are available at our library or submissions may be made electronically at www.stcatharines.library.on.ca/freshink.
Fresh Ink is sponsored jointly by the TD Bank and the St Catharines Public Library.
