Home staging is a topic that is appearing everywhere these days, in magazines, newspapers and on television programs, but what exactly is it? Home staging is today what the home inspection was 20 years ago, and has been common in the real estate markets in the United States and larger Canadian urban centres for years. To put it simply, if you highlight the best features of your home as you are likely to sell faster and get a better return!

Join Mara Snider of New Leaf Designs as she outlines the concepts, what is involved, and how you can benefit from staging your home when trying to sell on April 29 at 7:00pm in the LaMarsh Room of the Victoria Avenue Library. Accessibility & Customer Service

On January 1, 2008 the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service in Ontario became law. Businesses and organizations that provide goods or services to people in Ontario are now legally required to make their customer services operations accessible to people with disabilities.

What does this mean for your business or for you as a customer?

Niagara North Community Legal Assistance and the Library have arranged an information program called “Breaking Barriers Together: Customer Service Accessibility Standards” on April 23 starting at 7:30pm at the Victoria Avenue Library.

Come and listen to a panel presentation and discussion, with representatives from municipal government, community organizations and the Niagara North Community Legal Clinic including Lisa Butler of the Accessibility Directorate of Ontario.

Kara Bartley Book Launch - April 18

Niagara Falls author Kara Bartley will introduce her new novel “Call of Adhara”on April 18 from 11am to 3pm in the LaMarsh Room of the Victoria Avenue Library. Light refreshments will be served.

She is the author of ‘The Siamese Mummy’ and ‘The Unearthlings’.
